
Through Executive Decree 19, dated March 8, 2022, the Panamanian authorities have decided to establish the requirement of transit visas for Cuban nationals, for a period of 3 months. As reported by the Embassy of Panama in Havana, the measure will come into force as of Sunday, March 13.
Passengers traveling before the aforementioned date will not require any type of visa. Those who have a ticket between March 13 and 30 must reschedule their flight and then apply for their transit visa. According to the text of the Decree, consular attention for transit visas will begin on Thursday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and those people who have a ticket will be served from March 31, and so on, per travel itinerary date, 15 business days prior to travel date.
The Embassy of Panama itself has published on its social networks the necessary requirements for applying for this visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains in contact with the Panamanian Embassy in Havana, with the purpose of serving the interests of our nationals who travel to third countries through Panama, respecting the sovereign decision of the authorities of that Isthmian country. .
