Sri Lanka Cuba Friendship Association celebrates the 63rd Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Sri Lanka, January 21, 2022, The Sri Lanka Cuba Friendship Association organized an event to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

The activity was chaired by the Honorable Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Education, and President of the Sri Lanka Cuba Friendship Association.

 Also present at the event were the Ambassador of Cuba Andrés Marcelo González Garrido together with the Honorable Tissa Vitharana, President of the Friendship Group in the Parliament of Sri Lanka Cuba.

Ministers, parliamentarians, representatives of different parties, members of the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates in Cuba, trade union leaders and friends of Cuba also participated.

The Honorable Dinesh Gunawardena and the Ambassador of Cuba Andrés Marcelo Gonzalez Garrido used the floor, who recounted the activity of the Friendship Association in defense of the Cuban Revolution, highlighted Cuba’s achievements in different spheres and the defense of sovereignty of Cuba and especially the fight against the illegal and unjust blockade of the United States against Cuba.

At the meeting, held in the theater of the National Library of Colombo, the Ambassador of Cuba was presented with a five-point declaration of support for the Revolution that highlights the example of the Cuban Revolution to the peoples of the world and firmly condemns the US blockade against Cuba.
