Speaker of the House of the Assembly of Dominica condemns the blockade against Cuba and its inclusion in list of EE.UU. of terrorist countries.

Roseau, Dominica, January 29, 2021. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández, held a meeting with the Speaker of the House of the Assembly of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honorable Joseph Isaac. The meeting took place in the office of the Speaker of the House of Assembly, located in the parliamentary headquarters in the city of Roseau.

The Ambassador provided information on the effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US government against the people of Cuba, especially those produced in the last period of the Trump administration. Likewise, he referred to the fraudulent qualification of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism by the Administration of the former president of the United States, which he said constitutes a cynical and hypocritical act that seeks to defame Cuba and undermine the possibility of recompositing of relationship between Cuba and the new administration of that country.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of the Assembly of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honorable Joseph Isaac, ratified the traditional position condemning the blockade of the government and people of Dominica and expressed a strong rejection of the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism, of which he said, he considers should be withdrawn immediately.

The meeting, in which other topics of mutual interest were addressed, took place in an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship such as that characterizes the bilateral relations between both countries.
