Thessaloniki March 12. The Hellenic-Cuban Association and the Greek Committee for Detente and Peace in Thessaloniki, organized an important event of solidarity with Cuba at the headquarters of the City Hall in Thessaloniki, the second most important city in Greece. Apostolis Skoufas, president of the Association, and Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina, Cuban ambassador to Greece, spoke.
Both speakers explained the current situation in Cuba, the tightening of the blockade, the maneuvers of US imperialism against Cuba, the confrontation with the pandemic, and other aspects of the heroic struggle of the Cuban people and their constant participation in the main decisions and achievements of the Cuban revolution.
The solidarity of the Greek friends with the people of Cuba was reaffirmed. Among the people present were important leaders of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in the region, members of the municipality, leaders and members of the Friendship Association and the Committee for Peace, as well as the general public.
At the end there was a cultural program.
