Solidarity with Cuba in the presentation of a book on Che in Thessaloniki

THESSALONIKI, Greece, 9/9/21. A book in Greek language book entitled: “Che, Ambassador of the Revolution”, by the friend of Cuba and general secretary of the Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship in Thessaloniki Nikos Mottas, published by the Atexnos publishing house, was launched. The event became an action of solidarity with Cuba, of condemnation of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, of reaffirmation of support for the Cuban people and government in the face of attacks, manipulation of information and imperialist maneuvers of various kinds against the Cuban revolution. Each of the speakers, in addition to talking about the importance of the book, reaffirmed their support for the revolution and the struggle of the Cuban people.
The moderator of the event was the friend of Cuba Velisarios Kossivakis, director of Newstar Art Cinema and coordinator of the Greek initiative for the Nobel Peace Prize for the contingent of Cuban health workers Henry Reeve. The author of the book asked for a minute of silence for the physical departure of the great Greek musician and friend of Cuba Mikis Theodorakis, whose funeral was that day.
The speakers were: Apostolis Skoufas, president of the Hellenic Cuban Friendship Association in Thessaloniki; Velissarios Kossivakis who read the message from Dr. Aleida Guevara, daughter of Che, sent expressly for the presentation of the book; Evgenia Kavallari, President of the Imathia Philologists Association; Ritsa Triantafyllidou, educator; Nikos Mottas, author; Iraklis Kakavanis editor of Atexnos and the ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina, who thanked those present, explained the importance of Mottas’s work, and the current situation in Cuba.
Among the attendees were representatives of various political forces, including several militants of the Communist Party of Greece, members of friendship associations, the World Peace Council and the general public, as well as the counselor of the embassy José Oriol Marrero Martinez. The friendship and solidarity of the Greek people with the Cuban people and their interest in learning more about the revolution were revealed.
Thessaloniki is the second city in the country with more than one million inhabitants, located almost 500 kilometers north of Athens,
Embacuba Grecia and Facebook Oriol Marrero.
