Kingston, Jamaica, 26 January 2021.- Phillip Paulwell, a member of the Parliament of Jamaica and President of the People’s National Party (PNP), had a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba in that Caribbean nation, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.
The Jamaican legislator and the Cuban diplomat discussed issues of bilateral, regional and international interest, with emphasis on the economic and health impact of the complex international epidemiological situation.
During the meeting, Paulwell validated the PNP’s historic support for Cuba, this political force’s permanent condemnation of the US blockade against the Greatest Island in the Antilles, and the eternal gratitude for the solidarity offered by the Island to the Jamaican people.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked her interlocutor, while reiterating her country’s commitment to Jamaica, specifying that at this time about 500 health professionals and almost a hundred teachers provide assistance to the sister nation.
