Fernando González Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) and Angel Arzuaga, deputy coordinator of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, presided over the virtual event from Havana.  The meeting served to ratify the support for the Caribbean country, with emphasis on the condemnation of the blockade and the anti-Cuban actions in the European Parliament, an issue addressed by Yolanda Ferrer, President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Cuban National Assembly.

Members of the Associations of Friendship with Cuba also spoke from Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey, the Netherlands, among many other nations of the continent.

The event also served to provide information to the participants on the advances in Cuban vaccine candidates against Covid19, by Dr. Eulogio Pimentel, of the BioCubaFarma Group; and on the extraterritorial effects of the embargo on Europe and Cuba-U.S. relations, by Johana Tablada, deputy director general in the U.S. division of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.
