OF COMANDANTE FIDEL CASTRO’S DEATH
Dear Comrades and friends in Cuba,
Estimados companeros y amigos en Cuba,
Desde la Asociación Heleno-Cubana de Amistad y Solidaridad de Salónica en Grecia, les hacemos llegar a usted y al pueblo de Cuba nuestro más cordial saludo!
From the Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity in Thessaloniki, we extend to you and the people of Cuba our best comradely regards.
It was five years ago, in November 2016, when Cuba and the world lost one of the greatest revolutionaries in modern history, Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro. A communist, an internationalist, a true revolutionary, Fidel left his indelible stamp on the history of Cuba and Latin America. He was the man whose name became synonymous of Revolution and Dignity and whose legacy for the Cuban people and the international communist movement is truly invaluable.
The political legacy of Fidel continues to inspire the Cuban people in the continous struggle against the genocidal, economic, financial and trade blockade imposed by the United States and their European and Latin American allies for six decades, in violation of international law.
We unite our voice with the Cuban government, the people of Cuba and the international solidarity movement in demanding an end to this criminal, imperialist blockade.
We firmly stand by the side of Cuba against imperialist aggression, against the recent provocations and counterrevolutionary attempts by the United States and its collaborators.
Today, in times of Coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary to highlight the great achievements of the Cuban Revolution, to support and extend the achievements of socialist construction in Cuba. The efficiency with which the Cuban National Health System dealt with the pandemic, both domestically as well as abroad through the “Henry Reeve” medical brigade, consists the offspring the socialist construction, from the 1959 Revolution to date. It furthermore proves the significant superiority of the socialist central planning in relation to capitalist anarchy in a particularly sensitive sector, such as the one of Public Health.
Dear comrades and friends,
Today, five years after his biological death, Comadante Fidel remains in the hearts and the collective consciousness of the people who fight against the barbaric exploitative system, against capitalism, injustice and repression.
We, the friends of Cuba here in Greece, will always honor the memory of Fidel Castro, whose example inspires and will continue to inspire the struggle of the international working class, for a society without exploitation of man by man, for socialism-communism.
