Fidel’s emancipator legacy, exalted at the São Paulo Forum

Havana, August 14th. – By participating in the international virtual meeting Fidel, a man of science with a vision of the future, convened by the São Paulo Forum and the Communist Party of Cuba, the First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez praised the contribution of the Cuban leader in the archipelago’s efforts to achieve technological and scientific sovereignty.

As an exceptional politician who, with humanism, intelligence, creativity and tenacity, made the Revolution, putting the education and health of the people in the foreground, the First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, described the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

When participating in the international virtual meeting Fidel, a man of science with a vision of the future, convened by the São Paulo Forum and the Communist Party of Cuba, the president highlighted how, under the leadership of Fidel, the achievement of the unity of the masses is the main key to the resistance of the Revolution against US imperialism.

He especially praised the contribution of the Cuban leader in the archipelago’s efforts to achieve technological and scientific sovereignty, the basis for the development of a policy to promote health centers, science centers and schools, despite the obstacles of the blockade of USA

Precisely because Cuba is well aware of the effects of the imperialist siege to suffocate its people, Díaz-Canel reiterated the island’s support for the progressive governments of the region that face hostility from the United States, in the midst of the fight against covid-19, and they fight the aftermath of savage neoliberalism.

In the virtual forum, also the member of the Political Bureau of the Party and Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, valued Fidel’s emancipator legacy: «His contributions in other domains of the development of science are better known, but his precociousness is fascinating approach to social communication and computing, “he specified.

Fidel “insisted on adapting our struggles to the networks and the communication sphere without ever leaving the streets,” said the Foreign Minister at the event, in which the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, also participated; the ex-president of Bolivia, Evo Morales; the intellectuals Frei Betto and Ignacio Ramonet, and other personalities.
