Pretoria, March 8, 2021.- With a simple but emotional activity, the group of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa, together with a representation of the Island’s collaboration brigades in this sister African country, celebrated the “International Women’s Day”.
The women received the entertainment of their companions, who highlighted the role of women in Cuban society and in the internationalist work of our country, gave them postcards and verses.
In 1975, the UN General Assembly officially declared March 8 as International Women’s Day. Since then, the date has been linked to movements in defense of gender equality and the emancipation of women.
The full incorporation of women into the public and political life of the country is one of the main achievements of the Cuban Revolution.
