Cuban Mission in Seychelles ready for the consultation process of the draft of the Code of Families

Victoria, February 28_ Members of the Electoral Commission corresponding to the State Mission of Cuba in Seychelles, met today at the Embassy headquarters, to review all the organizational aspects in view of the development of the the consultation process of the draft of the Code of Families, which will take place next Saturday, March 5, at the Embassy headquarters itself.

Since its constitution last January 24, the Electoral Commission has been carrying out an important organizational work that includes the correct registration of all voters, the dissemination of the numbered text of the document to facilitate its analysis and the process of formulating proposals, and the necessary coordination with the health authorities to achieve the highest participation, because the 98 % of the voters are members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in the country.

During the meeting, tbhe member checked all the health measures and protocols established by the mission and by the country’s authorities in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, the facilities for the voters to submit their proposals in writing and the alternative for those who for work reasons are unable to attend the meeting, to submit their proposal in writing and signed.  

The consultation process of the draft of the Code of Familie is an expression of the importance given by the Cuban State to the family as the main nucleus of society and constitutes a democratic legislative exercise that intends to portray the current Cuban society in all its diversity and plurality. After analysis by the population, the draft  will be submitted to a referendum before being approved by the National Assembly.
