Cuban leaders congratulate Cambodia on independence anniversary

Cuba’s top leaders on Tuesday contratulated their counterparts in Cambodia on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the country’s independence.

In a message to the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni, Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Cuban president, ratified the commitment to continue working together to improve bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation.

The same was done by Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero in a letter to his Cambodian counterpart, Hun Sen.

The president of the National People’s Power Assembly, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, expressed his wishes for the strengthening of ties between both nations and Parliaments, in two messages to his counterpart Heng Samrin, and to Senate Speaker Say Chhum.

Meanwhile, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez conveyed to Cambodia’s deputy prime minister and head of the Foreign Minsitry, Prak Sokhonn, his wishes to strengthen ties between Havana and Phnom Penh.
