Beirut, November 5, 2021. The Cuban Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, received at the Embassy headquarters the Head of International Relations of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Cesar Obeid, with whom he exchanged on the situation in Cuba, Lebanon and the region.
The Cuban diplomat updated the visitor on the situation in the Greater of the Antilles, particularly on the progress in the fight against the pandemic and the upcoming opening of the country to reactivate the economy that has been hard hit by the incidence of Covid-19, and the tightening of the blockade and sanctions implemented by the Trump administration and maintained by President Biden.
Pellicer Moraga also denounced the destabilizing plans directed from Washington with the aim of creating chaos, disturbing national peace and tranquility and hindering the reactivation of the Cuban economy.
For his part, Obeid highlighted the solidity of bilateral relations and the coincidence of positions on all issues, especially regarding the right to defend sovereignty in the face of the challenges of colonial domination represented by the policies of pressure and siege imposed on countries and peoples practiced by the US administration and its allies.
Obeid reaffirmed his party’s support to Cuba’s struggle for the elimination of the blockade and condemned Washington’s hostile policy and its destabilizing plans against the island. (Embacuba LÃbano)
