Cuban Ambassador in Dublin held a working meeting with the Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Irish Foreign Ministry.

Dublin, March 1, 2021. The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanés, held a virtual working meeting with Ambassador James McIntyre, director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the local Foreign Ministry, and Stephen Barry, deputy director.

The videoconference that took place in the friendly atmosphere that characterizes relations between the two countries was the scene to promote a fruitful exchange on various matters of bilateral interest and within the framework of relations between Cuba and the European Union.

Both parties ratified their willingness to continue these exchanges in a fluid manner and to promote the expansion of bilateral cooperation in various areas identified as being of mutual interest.

Ireland has consistently supported the resolution that the United Nations General Assembly passes by an overwhelming majority every year and that demands the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba, aware of the profound negative impact it causes on the Cuban people, also has expressed its opposition to the extraterritorial application of the unilateral sanctions of the blockade.
