Helsinki, January 25th.- Charge d’Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Cuba in Finland and the Baltic countries, Víctor Manuel Rodríguez Etcheverry participated in the annual meeting of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr. Gitanas Nauseda with the diplomatic corps accredited in Vilnius.
The meeting’s agenda included an intervention by the Head of State, where he reviewed the main achievements of Lithuanian foreign policy during 2020, as well as the country’s priorities for the coming year, which places at his first point the fight against the COVID19 pandemic.
In addition to Cuba, 95 accredited countries participated at the conference. On behalf of the diplomatic corps, his dean in Vilnius, Apostolic Nuncio H.E. Archbishop Petar RAJIČ, thanked the president for dedicating time from his busy schedule to meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions and expressed his commitment to continue building cooperative ties with the newly formed Lithuanian government last November. Finally, there was a battery of questions and answers between the ambassadors and the president, which culminated with the invitation for the next meeting in 2022, this time with the hope that it will be face-to-face.
