Ambassador of Cuba presents credential letters to the President of Yemen

Riyadh, March 24th – At noon, the President of the Republic of Yemen, H.E. Mr. Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, received in audience Vladimir González Quesada, who presented his credentials as the new Cuban Ambassador to this Arab nation, residing in the Saudi capital.

The simple but solemn ceremony took place at the Guest Palace in Al-Nasseriyah town, and was also attended by the Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, and the Chief of Protocol and Ceremonies of the Presidency, Mr. Mohamed Al-Haj Mahfouz.

Once he presented his letters and the official photo and video were taken, the Ambassador had the opportunity to talk with the Yemeni president, conveying the greetings of his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. Likewise, he expressed the will of the Island’s government to continue developing and strengthening bilateral relations in the different spheres.

President Hadi and the Cuban diplomat agreed in describing the ties of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Yemen as historical, whose beginnings date back to the 70s of the last century being its best expression the large number of Yemeni students who have been trained in the Caribbean nation and the hundreds of Cuban experts who served as collaborators in that Arab country.

Both parties also agreed on the need to find a fast solution through dialogue and negotiation to the serious armed conflict that Yemen is suffering today, in order to achieve definitive peace and stability, maintaining the country’s territorial integrity. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
