Oslo, March 24, 2022. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, visited the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD). There she had a useful meeting with Elisabeth Clemens and Ingunn Kroksnes, head and senior adviser, respectively, of the Energy Section of the Department for Climate and Environment.
The Norwegian officials gave a detailed explanation about the structure and priorities of a Section that, within NORAD, works for Sustainable Development Goal No. 7: Affordable and clean energy.
It was a good occasion to recognize the role that NORAD has played in promoting relations of cooperation between Cuba and Norway. In this context, both parties highlighted the results of the bilateral cooperation project developed for several years within the framework of the NORAD program “Oil for Development”.
The Ambassador received first-hand information about the transformation process that the “Oil for Development” program is undergoing to become new program called “Energy for Development”, focused on renewable energies. (Embacuba Noruega)
