North america announces additional $50 million in humanitarian assistance with regard to Afghanistan

Today, at the High-Level Pledging Event on Helping the Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan 2022, convened from the UN, Qatar, the United Kingdom plus Germany, the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan,   Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific cycles Economic Development Agency of Canada, announced an additional fifty dollars million in funding through Canada in 2022 included in its continued response to the particular humanitarian needs of people in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries. March 31, 2022 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada Canada continues to be deeply concerned by the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. The humanitarian response needs to be scaled up to avert an unprecedented disaster. This assistance will be delivered through UN and other established humanitarian partners with the operational capacity to respond to these requirements. With Canada’s support, partners will provide life-saving assistance, like food and nutrition, emergency healthcare, clean water and sterilization, and protection services.
