Minister Joly to co-host Global Survivors Fund event on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence during 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City

Notes for media: September 21, 2022 – In collaboration with the Global Survivors Fund, The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will co-host an event on conflict-related sexual violence on September 22, in New York City. Minister Joly will be joined by Nadia Murad to open the event and discuss the importance of centering survivors in the pursuit of justice, including reparations. Media representatives wishing to participate can attend in the following ways:

  • in person at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the United Nations (237 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10017). Please register by sending the name of reporter and camera operator to Sarah Simoneau by 6 PM ET, on September 21, 2022. Media should plan arrive at least 30 minutes before the event to allow time for security screening, and are kindly asked to wear a mask.
