Visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi to the United Arab Emirates

As part of the strengthening of relations of friendship and cooperation between Burundi and the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Republic of Burundi, paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from 8 to 12 november, 2021.

During this visit, the President of the Republic took the opportunity to participate in the Universal Expo 2020 Dubai.

On the sidelines of this visit, the President of the Republic of Burundi received in audiences on november 9, 2021 at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Investors from high-performance groups called “Top Five” working in different areas of public interest. such as: agriculture and livestock, trade, road and airport infrastructure, industries, energy, tourism etc. They discussed the agricultural sector because Burundi considers it a priority for the socio-economic development of the country.

The President showed the business opportunities in Burundi to these Emirati businessmen who wish to establish win-win partnerships with our country. He said that Burundi abounds in an enormous quantity of water, active labor, strong and less expensive, a quality soil very rich in mineral salts, an economically strategic geographical location. He reassured these investors that Burundi offers facilities for the creation of a business through the Burundian Development Agency (ABD).

These Investors have promised to come and invest in agriculture and livestock as well as other sectors of interest.

Note that on the sidelines of this visit, His Excellency Albert SHINGIRO, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of Burundi signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of a Joint Cooperation Commission with Ms. Reem Bin Ibrahim Al Hashimi , Minister in charge of Cooperation in the United Arab Emirates and an agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation with Doctor Thani bin Ahmed Ali-Zayoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
