The Government of Burundi strengthens strategic relations with the diaspora

As part of strengthening strategic relations between the Government of Burundi and the diaspora, as well as promoting the employment of migrants, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation has carried out several activities, including the organization with resounding success of the 6th edition of the Week of the Burundian Diaspora in July, under the theme: “Burundian Diaspora together for agricultural development and environmental protection”.
The Minister declared it on October 25, 2022 when he presented the achievements of the 1st term of the current fiscal year. The Minister Albert Shingiro also indicated that as part of the celebration of Human Trafficking Day celebrated on July 30, the Ministry participated in the activities of a round table on human trafficking.
Other activities related to strengthening relations with the diaspora were also organized. These include the meeting of the President of the Republic of Burundi with members of the diaspora, in the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, as well as the process of authorizing the operation of overseas migrant worker recruitment agencies.
