The general security situation in Burundi is very upright

“All these facts are eloquent testimonies of this haven of peace that is present-day Burundi,” she added.
The meeting of the African diplomatic corps also discussed the preparation of the celebration of the Africa Day (Africa Day) which will take place next may 2023.
It should be noted that this will be the first time that the African Group of Ambassadors accredited and residing in Uganda celebrates Africa Day, which was once organized by Non-Governmental Organizations
She also cited the recent Summit of the East African Community (EAC), organized at Bujumbura, which brought together almost all the Heads of Member States of this organization.

She mentioned some of the facts which prove that Burundi is experiencing a period of total security, namely the massive flow of citizens from neighboring countries to Burundi, particularly from the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and many of the members of the diaspora who crowded the country during the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 holidays.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Burundi in Kampala, HE Epiphanie Kabushemeye Ntamwana, had the opportunity to share with her fellow Ambassadors a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Communal Development and Security of the Republic of Burundi, made public after the alert of the United States Embassy in Burundi on the insecurity, not only inside the country but also at particular points of the economic capital at Bujumbura.
Ambassador Epiphanie Kabushemeye-Ntamwana reassured this body that the general security situation which has prevailed since the end of 2022 to date is very good throughout the territory of Burundi.
She condemned this behavior of certain powers, who, jealous of this situation of peace, the enthusiasm for Burundi and the consequent sustainable economic development in sight, still want to fish in troubled waters by issuing false alarms on the situation of imaginary insecurity in Burundi, with the objective of tarnishing the country’s image and discouraging the Foreign Direct Investments and tourists who are currently coming in droves.
Ambassador Epiphanie Kabushemeye-Ntamwana also confided that in february 2023, the situation remained very good throughout the country, the population is going about its activities normally throughout the national territory. The mobilization of administrative authorities towards development projects is unprecedented. The country is therefore in the process of taking advantage of the dividends of peace to achieve its economic take-off.
On february 22, 2023, the African diplomatic corps accredited and residing in Uganda met in their monthly meeting, organized on a rotating basis, with the aim of exchanging information from the capitals of their respective countries. The month of february 2023 was Burundi’s turn to host this meeting.
