The Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation pays a working visit to the DRC

As part of the implementation of the commitments made by the Government of Burundi and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, during the state visit of HE Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE to Kinshasa at the invitation of his Counterpart on July 12-14, the Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation HE Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO is making a working visit to the DRC since Monday, August 30, 2021.

Indeed, the two heads of state had instructed their ministers in charge of foreign affairs to organize as soon as possible, the 4th session of the joint commission for cooperation between Burundi and the DRC.

On the menu of discussions, the two Parties will among other things discuss issues relating to economic and security cooperation. These include in particular: questions of security at the common border, questions relating to trade, the rational exploitation of the Rusizi plain, the mobility of goods and people at the common border; and other matters of common interest.
