On tuesday, november 23, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation His Excellency Albert SHINGIRO proceeded to the signing of the Agreement for the implementation of the deviation project of the National Road RN1.
Note that on december 24, 2020, a Burundian delegation led by Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, participated by Video-Conference, as part of bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. During this meeting, the Burundian Party sent a list, in order of priority, of the projects to the Chinese Government, including the project to deviate or bypass the National Road (RN1).
