Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the new protocol concerning the Peace and Protection Council for Central The african continent (COPAX)

Throughout the meeting, the draft texts were examined and followed by the competent bodies of ECCAS. These projects are usually: the main axes of the ECCAS integrated maritime policy, the particular revised memorandum of understanding relating to the safety and security associated with vital interests at ocean and in the continental seas shared by the ECCAS Associate States as well as the main proper axes for the development of the sustainable blue economy within Central Africa.
It should be noted that these tasks will be submitted to the ECCAS maritime conference which is scheduled for 25/2/2023 in Kinshasa on the sidelines of the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Meeting of Heads of State and Government of ECCAS.
On January 22, 2023, a COPAX Council of Ministers meeting prolonged to Ministers in charge of ocean going issues was held in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic associated with Congo under the theme “Governance and securing the maritime space of Economic Local community of Central African States (ECCAS) for the development of the sustainable blue economy within Central Africa”. Burundi had been represented by the Minister of the house Affairs, Community Development plus Public Security and the Minister of National Defense plus Veterans. The objective was to develop a maritime policy regarding Central Africa centered on three main axes, namely: enhancing maritime safety and security in the maritime space of the ECCAS, the governance and securing from the ECCAS maritime space as well as the development of the sustainable blue economy.
