On Monday, March 14, 2022, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO received in audience a delegation of British investors from Gridworks Group, which operates in the transmission, distribution and renewable energy sectors distributed in Africa. They develop and invest in electricity infrastructure in Africa. The delegation was led by Mr. Simon Hodson, Chief Executive Officer of Gridworks accompanied by the Ambassador of Burundi in Washington Mr. Jean de Dieu NDIKUMANA.
Then, Mr. Simon Hodson indicated that these investors have the project to invest in Burundi in the field of renewable energy in general and especially electricity.
Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO welcomed these investors and thanked them warmly for their project. He said that this field of electricity fits well with the vision of the President of the Republic His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE to develop the country. Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO also indicated that there is no development without improvement of the energy sector, since most industries use energy for the transformation of products.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation encouraged them and promised them good collaboration on the part of the Ministry in particular and the Government in general.
