Visit of the Bulgarian President Rumen Radev to Athens

During the meetings, bilateral strategic projects and current international issues of interest to both sides were discussed. The potential of Bulgaria and Greece to contribute to strengthening Europe’s energy security was highlighted.
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev visited Athens on February 16, 2023 and held talks with the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
In the presence of the Bulgarian President and the Prime Minister of Greece, the energy ministers of the two countries, Rosen Hristov and Kostas Skrekas, signed two memorandums of understanding – for cooperation in the feasibility study of the Alexandroupolis-Burgas oil pipeline and for cooperation on gas supply security and natural gas storage.
The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou welcomed the President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev to the Acropolis Museum, where they had lunch, following her invitation. Afterwards, the two Presidents were guided to the exhibition “Raiment of the Soul” by the artists Vangelis Kyris from Greece and Anatoli Georgiev from Bulgaria.
