By order of the Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Velislava Petrova was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. She graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK. She is a specialist in the field of sustainable development and global health with experience in international organizations and countries in the Global South. She has been working in Geneva for the last two years, and from August 2020 to June 2021 she was an expert in disaster risk assessment at the World Bank Group.
