The Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska and the Secretary of State for European Affairs of France Clément Bonn discussed the priorities of the French Presidency of the EU

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodora Genchovska and the Secretary of State for European Affairs of the French Republic Clement Bonn discussed the priorities of the French Presidency of the EU, which begins on January 1, 2022.

Clement Bonn presented the priorities of the French presidency – climate, digitalisation and the social pillar of the EU, along with the foreign policy dimension. He confirmed France’s readiness to work in constructive cooperation with Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Foreign Minister expressed support for the outlined priorities and noted the important issues on the European agenda for our country, including the negotiations on the new Migration and Asylum Pact, the Schengen reform, the enlargement policy. Accession to the Eurozone and the Schengen area continues to be a strategic priority for Bulgaria.
