Ambassadorial meeting to review Bulgaria’s relations with countries from the Middle East and Africa, initiated by Minister Milkov

The issue of ensuring food security in countries of the Middle East and Africa, as a consequence of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, was also in the focus of the conversation.
Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the heads of missions of countries from the Middle East and Africa accredited in our country. This was another regional meeting that he has hosted.
The Bulgarian Foreign Minister thanked the diplomats for the timely permission received from the countries they represent for the opening of polling stations for the upcoming election on October 2 vote for the National Assembly.
During the meeting, a number of issues from bilateral relations and the international agenda were discussed, including investments, energy, military-technical cooperation, joint efforts to combat climate change, joint work in various international formats such as the UN Climate Change Conference in 2022 (COP-27) and the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. Cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the Middle East and Africa with regional organizations, etc. was also discussed.
Minister Milkov emphasized the traditionally friendly relations between Bulgaria and the countries of the region, built by generations of diplomats, as well as by Bulgarian specialists in the fields of medicine, construction, science, and culture, for whom the Arab and African countries are a second home.
Minister Milkov confirmed his commitment to continue the consistent active work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the countries of the Middle East and Africa, as well as their representations in our country.
