A state of national emergency has been declared in New Zealand to assist in the response to Cyclone Gabrielle.
Local updates are also being provided by Civil Defence Emergency Management Groups.

At this time, international and domestic flights to Auckland International Airport are disrupted. International and domestic flights are expected to restart today, Tuesday 14 February 2023. Air New Zealand’s regional services are expected to restart mid-afternoon. Airline restart plans may still change depending on forecast weather conditions across the next 24 hours. Travellers should contact their airline or use their airline app to determine whether flights will be arriving or departing.

The declaration will apply to the six regions that have already declared a local State of Emergency: Northland, Auckland, Tairāwhiti, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Hawkes Bay.
