The Ministry of Foreign Affairs marks the Diplomatic Day


In the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, of Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a virtual celebration today (Thursday, January 14, 2021) for all its employees to mark the Diplomacy Day, with the participation of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry’s undersecretaries, the assistant undersecretaries, ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abroad, directors of departments and employees of the ministry.  
  

On this occasion, Dr. Zayani delivered a statement in which he expressed his sincere gratitude and thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the generous care, attention and support they accord to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its employees, to achieve the foreign policy goals of the country and elevate its status among world nations and peoples.  

He praised His Majesty’s declaration of the 14th day of January of every year as a special day for the diplomatic corps, as a good occasion to express great loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty the King, the Leader of Bahraini Diplomacy for this care.  

The royal care that reflects belief in the importance of Bahraini diplomacy to strengthen friendship and cooperation relations between the Kingdom Bahrain and all countries of the world, defend the supreme interests of the Kingdom and its honorable citizens, and consolidate its regional and international standing.  

The Minister pointed out that the celebration of the Diplomatic Day “reminds us of the deep-rooted Bahraini diplomacy that has spanned over fifty years since the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1971, with successive achievements and successes over the last 5 decades thanks to the generous efforts and continuous giving at all levels.  

“ This has won Bahrain a high position at the international level, and strengthened its bilateral relations with many countries”, the minister said, recalling the sincere efforts made with all dedication and sincerity, by the founder of Bahraini diplomacy, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak, the Deputy Prime Minister, throughout the years of his assumption of the duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Khalifa, Adviser to His Majesty the King for Diplomatic Affairs, for his outstanding efforts and contributions during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs.


Dr. Zayani explained that peace has always been the symbol of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s foreign policy, and a path that illuminates the diplomatic process, adding that the diplomacy of peace led by His Majesty the King considers peace a fundamental pillar in our international relations, and believes in the importance of cooperation and dialogue between different nations, civilizations and religions.  

It is, he said, an expression of the principles of our foreign policy based on good neighborliness and promotion of world peace, and a sincere reflection of the nature of our authentic Bahraini society, whose distinctive features have always been openness, coexistence and mutual respect.  

He indicated that it is from this standpoint that diplomats sense the value of peace in their diplomatic missions, wherever they are as a compass that guide towards a prosperous future for the Kingdom’s diplomacy and its standing in the world.  
  

 The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that Bahraini diplomacy is the product of continuous institutional work, and tireless individual and collective efforts, stressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ endeavor to move forward in advancing diplomatic and administrative work at all individual and collective levels through faith in continuity, perseverance and creativity that are prerequisites for development.  

He pointed out that the idea of the employees’ Mubadara Program (initiative) and the government’s work initiatives program for departments and missions, stem from a desire to involve all employees of the ministry in developing the work environment and seeking to include their ideas, implementing their proposals at all ministry levels.  

He took pride in the degree of willingness of the Ministry’s employees to present constructive initiatives and creative ideas at both levels, appreciating the good efforts made by the ministry’s diplomatic and administrative staff.  

Efforts, he added, were made with all dedication and sincerity to the cherished nation and in fulfillment of the values, principles and national approach as well as full loyalty to His Majesty the King, the constitution and laws of the Kingdom and the principles and rules governing national work, the civilized development process, and keenness to serve the nation with loyalty to the wise leadership.  
  

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Zayani honored the winners of the (Initiative) program, praising their sincerity, dedication and the spirit of responsibility that they exerted to contribute to the development of work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressing the Ministry’s keenness to implement these ideas and wishing them continued success.  
  

It is noteworthy that more than 520 ideas have been submitted for the “Mubadara” program, of which 7initiatives were selected by a specialized committee.  

The best initiative award for the government work program 2020 was awarded to the Human Rights Affairs Department on “Promoting political and human rights work in light of the basic constants of the state and according to the National Action Charter and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.  

It was also won by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Riyadh for the initiative“ Our Future brings us together, ”and by the Information Systems Department for the“ Messaging System ”Mubadara.  

The Best Initiative Award 2020 was also awarded to Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Berlin For the initiative “Non-resident ambassadors working from the Kingdom of Bahrain”.  

Afra Rashid Al Suwaidi also won the award for the initiative “Direct electronic linkage for all transactions of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s missions abroad,” and so did Daij Jihad Al-Ruwaie for the initiative “the Aviation and Ships Permits System”.  

Among the winners was also employee Fatima Hassan Al-Zein for the “Mentor4Life” initiative, while the Excellent Management Award 2020 was granted to both the Operations and Information Systems departments.
