The Foreign Minister chairs 3rd meeting of the Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, chaired the third virtual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, held today in the presence of the Board members.

Dr. Zayani welcomed the members of the Board and praised their valuable efforts and contributions in developing the performance of the Academy, noting the prominent role the Academy plays to ensure adequate training to the employees of the Ministry and develop their capabilities so as to contribute positively to the productivity, quality and development of institutional work.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the members of the Board listened to a presentation made by the Executive Director of the Academy, Dr. Shaikha Munira bint Khalifa Al Khalifa.

She outlined the objectives of the Academy for the year 2021, citing the preparation of a training system for administrative job grades, automating training statistics, and ensuring sustainability of training for all employees of the ministry and government agencies.

Dr. Shaikha Munira talked about setting compulsory programs for all diplomatic degrees, providing advanced language courses to enable diplomats to master a third language, and obtaining a training the trainer license from the academy.

Reviewing the training statistics for the year 2020, she noted that 385 training courses were offered to 484 beneficiaries, raising the number Training hours to approximately 37,002.

She said the training system at the Academy, which was approved by the Minister, sparked the interest of the Ministry’s employees, including diplomats and administrative staffers, indicating their keenness and desire to participate and join training courses, and upgrade their capabilities.

A number of topics on the agenda were also discussed and appropriate decisions taken.
