MoFA Undersecretary receives U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affairs

In the context of continuous communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Chairperson of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, today received the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Margaret Nardi.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Chargé d’Affairs, affirming her contentment with the deep historical friendship and strategic alliance between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United States of America. She also hailed the constructive cooperation between the two countries that resulted in political, economic and cultural achievements, reviewing means to promote these relations in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and people.

Dr. Shaikha Rana stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad AL Khalifa, has become a pioneering example in the field of combating trafficking in persons, noting that Bahrain is maintaining its Tier 1 status in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report for the third consecutive year. She also mentioned the Kingdom’s keenness to promote cooperation with the international community to combat trafficking in persons and to achieve many accomplishments in this regard.

Dr. Shaikha Rana noted the important pivotal role played by the United States of America and its efforts to consolidate the foundations of security and stability in the region, affirming Bahrain’s keenness to consolidate bilateral cooperation relations with the United States and further developing them in order to achieve the common aspirations and desired goals.

For her part, Chargé d’Affaires Margaret Nardi expressed her pride in the bilateral relations between the two countries, and her appreciation for the development and growth of these relations at all levels. She also highlighted the important role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting security and stability in the region, wishing Bahrain further development.

The two sides also discussed a number of issues and topics of common concern during the meeting.
