MoFA Undersecretary: Japan’s distinct development and economic role opens new horizons for joint action

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, today received at the Ministry’s General Court the Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hideki Ito.

During the meeting, Dr. Shaikha Rana welcomed Ambassador Ito, emphasizing the depth of the friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Japan. She also expressed her appreciation for the progress of these relations at all levels, in light of the mutual keenness of the two friendly countries to further develop bilateral relations in order to meet common aspirations.

The Undersecretary pointed out that the exchanged visits between officials of the two countries have strengthened partnership between them in all fields and supported efforts to achieve Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, noting the distinguished role of Japan in the various development sectors and the successful and influential economic and development model it represents at the global level, which will develop joint cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and open new horizons for cooperation and joint action.

For his part, Ambassador Ito expressed his pleasure in meeting Dr. Shaikha Rana, hailing the distinguished level of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the development achieved by Bahrain in various areas. He also lauded the great efforts made by Bahrain to address the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, wishing the Kingdom further development.

The two sides also discussed a number of topics and issues of common concern during the meeting.
