Under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, ATDXT Group organised an event to mark the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) to establish an environmentally friendly local data centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was held virtually today.

The agreement was signed on behalf of CAEU by the advisor to the Council, Dr. Eng. Ali Muhammad Al-Khoury, and ATDXT Chairman, GS Murthy.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister expressed his pride and appreciation for the initiative of ATDXT Group to choose the Kingdom of Bahrain to be the headquarters of this centre and its important vital goals, which proves the excellence of the investment environment in Bahrain, and the care and support provided by the competent authorities concerned with attracting investments and capital in the Kingdom, and the many facilities they provide to investors, expressing his pleasure that the group plans to make this centre as its main headquarters to provide advanced technological services in the field of digital transformation in order to provide the best services to its partners in many Arab countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that Bahrain has an advanced and distinguished position in the field of digital transformation in the Middle East, and is planning to implement the future vision towards the digital economy that was emphasized by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in his opening speech to the second session of the fifth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives Councils, noting that His Majesty has directed that the government shall start to develop a comprehensive national plan that ensures the Kingdom of Bahrain is fully prepared to deal with the requirements of the digital economy, by adopting and employing artificial intelligence techniques in the production and service sectors, through setting up the necessary systems, completing technical structures, and encouraging quality investments, to ensure the maximum benefit from the returns on our national economy.

He stressed that Bahrain, based on Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, is striving, through cooperation between the public and private sector, to transform the Kingdom’s economy into a technology-based economy in preparation for Bahrain’s digital future, in light of the global economy’s tendency to restructure to meet the requirements of rapid technology. He also highlighted that several distinguished initiatives aimed at promoting the digital infrastructure in the Kingdom were launched, including the launch of a high-speed fiber-optic network for the Internet, as part of Bahrain’s Fifth National Telecommunications Plan (NTP5), which will contribute to facilitating and accelerating communications and providing the best services to the beneficiaries, whether to government agencies, private sector institutions or individuals, wishing ATDXT Group success in managing and operating the centre.
