The Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Agron Tare participated today in the 16th Meeting of the National Coordinators of the 17 + 1 Initiative, China-Central and Eastern European Countries.
This meeting comes on the eve of the preparations for the 9th Summit of Leaders of 17 + 1 , which will be held online on February 9, 2021.
The Deputy Minister Mr. Tare, in his speech, emphasized the threatening situation and the countries’ confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic and the new reality created as a result of this crisis, which is directly affecting our economies and societies.
The virus is not saving anyone and knows no boundaries, so extraordinary measures, new common approaches, solidarity, determination and cooperation to help each other need to be taken.
Such multilateral meetings are platforms not only to show solidarity and common will, but also to guide and improve efforts in order to maintain regional and global public health security, as well as to promote the cooperation between the countries in many areas and to make it as pragmatic and useful for all.
Albania considers that the cooperation in the framework of 17 + 1 should be focused and oriented towards those sectors that will need to be re-conceived and adapted to the consequences that are expected to occur and face from now on, such as health, food industry, agriculture, services, tourism, trade, automation and computerization of the economy, environment and digitalization.
