“Shaping Feminist Foreign Policy”, Minister Xhaçka in Berlin: Cooperation is needed in order to keep this agenda at the top of the world’s priorities

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, at the invitation of the German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, participated in the conference “Shaping Feminist Foreign Policy” held in Berlin.
“I am very pleased to see that despite the challenges we are facing, the feminist foreign policy agenda has not been left aside. Albania is making progress in this direction, as 60% of all middle and high level positions in the public administration are held by women.
Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done, but the impact is visible. The agenda for Women, Peace and Security is at the top of Albania’s priorities in its two-year mandate in the UN Security Council. Albania has already a National Strategy for Gender Equality for the next 10 years. I am optimistic that by working together and fighting to keep this agenda at the top of the world’s priorities where it belongs, we will be able to carry the torch so that others can carry it further in the future”, said the Albanian chief diplomat in her word.
The meeting, organized by the German Foreign Ministry, brought together partners from all over the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges for a feminist foreign policy approach as a necessary basis for ensuring peace, stability and prosperity.
Minister Xhaçka congratulated her German counterpart for the initiative undertaken, which, according to her, aims to expand and strengthen the network of gender equality lawyers.
