New York, Minister Xhaçka: Albania is committed to advancing the LGBTI agenda even at the UN

The main purpose of this group is to work within the UN framework to guarantee universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, especially the LGBTI community, with a particular focus on protection from violence and discrimination.
According to her, Albania remains committed and determined to advance this agenda as a priority issue even in the United Nations.
The United Nations LGBTI Core Group is an informal cross-regional group of United Nations Member States established in 2008.
In the meeting where the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, was also present, Minister Xhaçka emphasized that Albania stands for full, equal and meaningful participation of the LGBTI community in all spheres of public and institutional life.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the ministerial event of the LGBTI core group of the United Nations “The right to be me”.
