Today, Uzbekistan NSC Advisor & Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy Abdul Aziz Kamilov & the Uzbek President’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan Ismatullah Irgashov along with accompanying delegation called on Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi

to discuss Afghan-Uzbek bilateral relations, current situation, enhanced transit, & trade.
Mr. Kamilov highlighted the upcoming high-level political & economic conference among regional & world countries & institutions hosted by Uzbekistan in July, & invited Foreign Minister Muttaqi to attend the same.
Minister Muttaqi thanked Mr. Kamilov for visiting Kabul & congratulated him for assuming the new tenure, expressing gratitude to the government of Uzbekistan for cooperating with the Afghan people in political, economic & humanitarian areas, expressing satisfaction over the dominant good neighborliness environment between the two countries.Minister Muttaqi said that the need of hour is to adapt to changing international order & make positive use of it. He also said the Afghan delegation headed by the Ministry of Trade was ready to visit Uzbekistan to discuss enhanced trade to build economic self-reliance.To end, the two sides stressed the continuation of such meetings to make positive progress in the two countries’ common interests.
Mr. Kamilov called Afghanistan’s security interconnected to that of his country, adding that the two sides should work closely on bilateral trade and better transit.
