Today, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC Yue Xiaoyong called on IEA FM Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

The Chinese SR said bilateral relations with Afghanistan had progressed significantly,adding that the meetings between the two countries’ FMs depicted deep relations between the two countries.
The Chinese SR said his visit to Kabul was aimed at following up on agreements between Afghanistan’s neighboring countries’ FMs meeting in Tunxi-China as well as the meeting between the Afghan & Chinese FMs in Tashkent.
FM Muttaqi expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its expeditious & emergency assistance to earthquake victims in Khost & Paktika,reaffirming Afghanistan’s support for One-China policy.
The Chinese SR said he was working on bilateral & multilateral relations with Afghanistan, elaborating on the encouraging news during his recent regional visits.
FM Muttaqi also thanked the Chinese government for beginning the visa issuance process for Afghan traders in Kabul, calling it beneficial for bilateral trade between the two countries. FM Muttaqi called on the Chinese side to lay the foundation for Afghan exports to China.
He also said that in addition to pine nuts, China considered importing other dried & fresh fruits from Afghanistan to help Afghanistan’s economy.
He also praised IEA for its efforts & achievements,adding that the new Afghan government has been able to fulfill challenging & significant tasks in a short period, & that it had managed well the natural disasters & cold winter.
